Tightening in March 2027.
Part O of the Building Regulations has made overheating mitigation mandatory in all new residential buildings since 15 June 2022. The Future Homes Standard (laid March 2026, in force March 2027) tightens the standard further.
The critical point for developers: internal blinds, curtains and shutters do not satisfy Part O. Only external solar shading counts. If your building warrant or planning consent requires overheating compliance, external shading must be included in the specification.
We can advise from planning stage through to practical completion. We provide written specifications, g-value data, TM59 modelling inputs and product samples for planning applications.

Adjustable Louvre Systems
For developments with large south-facing glazed facades. Better solar performance than roller screens on multi-orientation elevations. BREEAM-creditable.
Internal Blinds & Curtains
For rooms where overheating compliance is met through other means. Roller blackout for bedrooms, Roman or roller for living areas. Contract-grade product, trade pricing for volume.
